Manufactured / Modular Homes

When you purchase a manufactured home insurance policy, you’re looking to protect the home you live in, your belongings, and also to provide personal liability coverage for your family. What we offer is similar to a standard homeowner’s policy but it is specifically written for manufactured (factory built) housing.

COMMONLY PROVIDED COVERAGE WILL INCLUDE:

Comprehensive Protection
Your manufactured home insurance coverage protects against a wide range of perils including fire, lightning, wind, hail, explosion, and burst water pipes. This kind of protection is sometimes referred to as “special form” coverage.

Protection For A Total Loss
In the event of a total loss, you will be paid the stated value of your manufactured home as shown on your declarations page. While stated value provides adequate protection for many owners, you can upgrade your protection to replacement cost coverage.

Protection For a Partial Loss
Some carriers provide Partial Loss coverage because most losses are partial. They pay the actual cash value (ACV) for a partial loss. Because ACV takes depreciation into account when settling your claim, you may want to upgrade your protection to replacement cost.

Personal Liability
If a guest (not a resident of your home) is injured in your home or if you accidentally injure someone or damage property belonging to someone else, you may be liable for those damages. Comprehensive Personal Liability coverage is offered in several coverage limits. You select the limit to fit your personal need.

Additional Living Expenses
If you need to move out of your home because of damage by a peril covered by this policy, this special coverage will help with the extra expenses you’ll have, such as lodging and meals.

Reimbursement for Repairs
Most policies allow reimbursement for reasonable expenses for repairs you need to make to prevent additional damage caused by a covered loss like covering a roof after a storm.

Coverage for Other Structures
Coverage for your shed or a detached garage can also be included.

Depending on your policy language, you may see additional coverage options such as:

  • Collapse
  • Emergency Removal
  • Fire Department Service Charges
  • Antenna/satellite dish
  • Trees/shrubs/plants/lawns
  • Food Spoilage
  • Optional coverage

SOME POLICIES MAY ALSO INCLUDE:

Breakdown Coverage
What if any of your major appliances, heating, and air conditioning systems, or large electronics just stopped working? This option will cover repair or replacement. And if your specific policy does not include this coverage, we may have an individual Specialty Policy for your consideration that is designed to handle Mechanical Breakdowns separate and apart from your Hazard policy.

Earthquake, Hurricane, Flood
These hard-to-find coverages are included in nearly all states.

Plus additional Optional Coverages such as:

  • Scheduled personal property
  • Trip collision
  • Builder’s risk
  • The list of included coverage and options varies depending on the intended use of your manufactured home. Take a look at our other pages if you need coverage for landlord rental properties or seasonal homes.
